2024 China Rock Climbing Natural Rock Wall Series opens in Gansu

The "Pomegranate Cup" 2024 China Rock Climbing Natural Rock Wall Series opened in Dingxi City, northwest China's Gansu Province from Saturday to Sunday, attracting participants from 13 provinces and municipalities.

Held in the Zheyang Mountain scenic area with a peak standing 2,200 meters above sea level, the event was the series' opening competition of this year.

The site's unique natural rock formations of the area provides the perfect setting for professional rock climbing events, featuring a steep rock wall reaching 120 meters in height with an average slope of 85 degrees.

The two-day competition sets up events for athletes in the men's and women's professional groups, and it also provides open events for male and female rock climbing enthusiasts.

The competition was co-hosted by the Mountaineering Management Center at the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Mountaineering Association and the municipal government of Dingxi.
