8th China-Eurasia Expo to unveil in Urumqi

The Eighth China-Eurasia Expo is scheduled to be held in Urumqi City of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from June 26 to 30, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday.

Over 1,000 Chinese and international enterprises and organizations are to attend this year's Expo.

The event will begin in the last week of June in Urumqi, with a wide range of sectors represented, including agriculture, textiles and energy.

Two UN agencies -- the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) -- will also attend and present the achievements of projects supported by UN agencies in promoting South-South cooperation in recent years.

Official data showed contracts worth more than 960 billion yuan (about 130 billion U.S. dollars) were signed at the previous expo in 2022.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce says it hopes this year's event will provide new opportunities for cooperation.
