China, Australia reaffirm commitment to uphold comprehensive strategic partnership: Premier Li
China and Australia reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and handle their ties with a positive attitude, said Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday.
Li and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese held the ninth China-Australia Annual Leaders' Meeting in Canberra, Australia.
After the meeting, the two leaders jointly met with the press.
"We reaffirmed our commitment to defining our relationship as a comprehensive strategic partnership, to mutual respect and trust, and to always viewing and handling the China-Australia relations with a positive attitude," the Chinese premier told the press.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the PM Albanese has said Australia is pleased to see the current Australia-China relations have stabilized and improved. Australia adheres to the one-China policy and does not support "Taiwan independence."
Australia supports China's development and prosperity and highly appreciates China's major contribution to the world's poverty alleviation cause, he has further said.
