China-Europe Railway Express launches first Shanghai-Düsseldorf direct line

The China-Europe Railway Express has launched its first direct express freight train line from Shanghai to the cities of Düsseldorf and Neuss in western Germany.

The inaugural train set off from Shanghai on June 08 Saturday as it embarked on its westward journey, carrying more than one hundred containers of high value-added industrial products, including automotive parts, mechanical equipment, and photovoltaic modules.

Over one hundred cities in 12 Eurasian countries are now connected to Shanghai by express rail. A new line to Austria is set to launch soon.
