China Hong Kong Int'l Children Film Festival opens in Beijing

The China Hong Kong International Children Film Festival was opened in Beijing on Saturday to boost the development of children's film production.

The purpose of this event is to promote the development of children's film culture and the exchange of children-related art and culture, encourage the creation of children's films, select outstanding performing talent for children's films, and allow children to fully display their talents.

Many filmmakers have come to the event to show their support, expressing their expectations for the creation of more children's films and their concern for children's cultural education.

"This will promote the enthusiasm for making children's films. As there is such a platform, everybody will participate and show their talent," said director Ding Yinnan.

"Children are our future, our hope and the flowers of our motherland. Good movies can help get the children steeped in traditional culture since childhood, so that they will be able to pass on this excellent culture," said actor Lu Qi.

"I hope the platform is accessible to all children, and it will be used to encourage filmmakers by recognizing their endeavors, so that they can create new works better," said actress Miao Miao.
