Chinese modernization to provide new, greater opportunities for global development : Xi

Chinese modernization on all fronts through high-quality development will provide new and greater opportunities for global development, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday.

Xi made the remarks when delivering a video speech to the opening ceremony of the celebration for the 60th anniversary of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

"This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC). We are advancing Chinese modernization on all fronts through high-quality development, which will provide new and greater opportunities for global development. China will always be a member of the Global South and the developing world. The purpose of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative that I proposed is to facilitate global modernization and realize common prosperity," Xi said.
