Noting that the two countries share time-honored friendship, Li said the talks between President Xi Jinping and President Dissanayake on Wednesday made new plans for deepening China-Sri Lanka relations and cooperation.

Li said China is willing to work with Sri Lanka to implement the strategic consensus of the two heads of state, carry forward traditional friendship, deepen political mutual trust, seek greater synergy between development strategies, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, advance cooperation projects such as the comprehensive development of the Colombo Port City and the Hambantota Port, and expand exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, agriculture and other fields, so as to push forward the strategic cooperative partnership between China and Sri Lanka.
