Envoys from 32 countries visit Inner Mongolia
A delegation of ambassadors and senior diplomats from 32 countries are paying a visit to north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to learn about the local culture and development.
The envoys, from countries such as Cameroon, South Africa, Türkiye and Argentina, are scheduled to visit Hohhot, the regional capital, Ulanqab, and other cities in Inner Mongolia from Wednesday to Saturday.
In Ulanqab, the envoys attended a Nadam fair, where they watched ethnic Mongolian traditional sports, such as wrestling, horse racing, and traditional singing and dancing performances.
Nadam, meaning "entertainment" or "recreation" in Mongolian, is a mass traditional Mongolian festival in which people celebrate harvests and pray for good luck.
The envoys also visited the homes of local herders and had cordial exchanges with them.
"You are surrounded by a mixture of feeling while entering the tent. This is harmony, unity, friendship, [and] sharing," said Ismail Hakki Musa, Ambassador of Türkiye to China.
In Hohhot, the envoys visited a local leading enterprise, where they spoke highly of the achievements the region has made in pursuing high-quality development.
"[I] see the high achievement in terms of development [of] technology, it's really advanced," said Norfarina Mohd Azmee, Deputy Chief of the Embassy of Malaysia in China.
"I'm really not only surprised by the attraction, the scenery and the beauty of the whole region here, but as well by the warmth of the population. They are really dynamic, happy and hospitable," said Martin Mpana, Cameroon's Ambassador to China.
