Paragliding competition in Gansu

A paragliding competition opened in northwest China's Gansu Province on Aug. 17, attracting nearly 50 paragliders from across the country to attend.

After the opening ceremony and preparation for the paragliding equipment and portable communication devices, paragliders jumped off a mountain in a scenic area of Su'nan County, marking the start of the competition.

"Today, I flew to an altitude of more than 5,000 meters, and I saw spectacular and beautiful scenery. I hope to have more opportunities to come here for paragliding," said Ji Xiang, a paraglider.

The three-day competition consisted of two events - spot landing and speed flying.
