Tourists flock to "mirror-like" lake in east China to escape summer heat

Tourists searching for a tranquil spot to escape from the scorching midsummer heat need look no further than the pristine Pingtian Lake in east China's Anhui Province, with its crystal clear waters attracting visitors who are keen to come and enjoy its cool, serene surroundings.

With its crystal clear water surface resembling a "Mirror of the Sky," the Pingtian Lake makes the roads which cross it appear to hover above the horizon, with vehicles and tourists traversing these paths as if they were floating among the clouds or walking on the water.

Strolling along the tree-lined walkways which circle around the lake, visitors are enveloped in the refreshing scene created by the green mountains and emerald waters of this scenic marvel.

"Surrounded by mountains, this lake is like a scene from a painting. I wandered along the bridge and around the lake this summer. When the breeze comes, it's nice and cool," said one tourist.
